Activation & Pre-Treatment
Many materials have a very low surface tension and are therefore difficult to wet. With the help of our laser systems, the surface tension of many metals can be increased. Even very low-energy surfaces can be permanently coated, printed or glued after pre-treatment.
By precisely setting our laser systems, metallic materials in the uppermost boundary layer - typically up to 5 µm - can be modified in order to create special structures or required roughness.
An additional side effect; the surface is also cleaned of contamination and particles at the same time, so that you receive a surface that is optimally prepared for subsequent coating processes.

PREPARATION FOR PAINTINGS ON AIRCRAFT SURFACES MADE OF COMPOSITES (activation)
Even sensitive materials, for example composite materials, can be treated gently. The laser evaporates the disturbing release agents and removes contaminations. In this process he can roughen the surface selectively, without damaging the fibres. Thus, an optimal area for further processing is created.
