Depainting / Decoating
The process
With the pulsed laser radiation of the SLCR laser painting systems or varnish will be removed layer for layer. Thus a selective (for example only the finish coating will be removed, the primer remains on the substrate) or a complete depainting (up to the substrate) can be achieved.
Meanwhile, this process is used in many industry branches. For the first time, there is a financially feasible, user and environment friendly process with automation possibilities for many different kinds of applications. With the selective laser coating removal, the chemical and mechanical decoating methods presently applied in numerous industrial branches, can be replaced.
This includes for example the depainting of composite material parts, the decoating of coating or protective varnish.
The advantages of the process:
- gentle depainting also of sensitive structures, without damage of the part
- selective and complete depainting
- local decoating is possible without masking
- The SLCR process is very clean, there is no impairment of the work environment or the workpiece through dust, wetness or moisture. Neither chemicals, blast medium nor other aids are used.
- residue resulting from the decoating can be removed immediately through an integrated suction and filter installation
- quality increase
- low operating costs
