Cleaning / Degreasing
The process
The cleaning of various surfaces belongs to the application possibilities for the SLCR laser. With the pulsed laser radiation of the TEA laser surfaces are removed fast, and varnishes are removed without further additives or aids layer for layer. Thus a selective (for example only the finish coating will be removed, the primer remains on the substrate) or a complete depainting (up to the substrate) can be achieved.
In many industry branches this process is meanwhile used. For the first time, there is a financially feasible, user and environment friendly process with automation possibilities for many different kinds of applications. With the selective laser coating removal, the chemical and mechanical decoating methods presently applied in numerous industrial branches, can be replaced.
This includes for example the degreasing, the removal of releasing agent residues or the cleaning of moulds.
The advantages of the process:
- neither chemicals, blasting medium nor any other auxiliary material is necessary when using the SLCR process; therefore the working environment and the working sample are not impaird by dust or any applied medium
- residue resulting from the cleaning can be removed immediately through an integrated suction and filter installation
- local cleaning without masking
- gentle cleaning without damage of the parts
- shorter cleaning cycles
- low operating costs
Application examples:
Laser cleaning tasks are for example
- degreasing
- removal of release agent residuals
- cleaning of moulds
- removal of overspray or product residuals
