FFC stripping

In trend-setting ranges of the electronic, automobile, aviation and medical technology flat flex cable (FFC) replace conventional circular conductors at an increasing pace.

FFC are characterised through:

  • compact building method
  • minimum employment of material
  • fully automatic manufacturing

Automated manufacturing of flat flex cable requires special process engineering.

For the attachment of plug connections and active and passive components the isolation at the contact points will be removed and the flat flex cable is opened.

Following compelling conditions are necessary for the subsequent assembly:

  • precise positioning
  • residue-free stripping
  • no damage of the FFC

The SLCR laser stripping is a well established technique in modern fabrication processes. Industrial matured and established laser systems make your procedures economical and provide an innovative solution for the inline treatment of FFC.

The advantages of the process:

SLCR technique is treating your FFC:

  • touch-less
  • without damaging the metal structure
  • also on both sides
  • wear-free (no tool or material consumption)
  • consistantly precise
  • clean with minimum particle emission
  • and minimum cycle time

Application examples:

  • treatment of FCC
