The vision: Laser not just for spots or line applications, but clean and precise on large areas as well.
The activities of SLCR Lasertechnik began long before its actual establishment. Already in the beginning of the eighties, the company Urenco, based in Jülich, started its development of pulsed TEA-CO2 lasers. After more than ten years of development, Urenco started the cooperation with the surface specialist Schlick in Greven. From the middle of the 90s, both companies pursued in a corporate development a new challenging aim: using laser also for the precise treatment of large areas.
After first successes, the SLCR Lasertechnik GmbH was founded in Jülich in 1997, as a management buy-out. Thereby, the acquired achievements of Urenco and Schlick have been continued consequently. Through the close cooperation with the mother companies, SLCR Lasertechnik was from the beginning able to resort to more than 70 years of experience in surface treatment. In 1999, SLCR displaced its site to Düren to create the basis for the further establishment of the company.
In the meantime the SLCR treatment of huge surfaces has established in the industrial sector. From 1mm² up to nearly 100m² huge surfaces can be treated by the spectrum of machines and systems which are solving problems successfully and efficiently in different industries, in different countries all over the world.
Besides the construction of lasers and integration of lasers in processing systems, the automation and construction of special systems are the core competencies of SLCR Lasertechnik.
